CHASSIS CXC-105 - PORTERS.

With reference to A1C/H1.12.31. The position as we see it at present is :-

(1) From your memo, you have fitted to Mr. Porters car the very best shock absorbers that we know of apart from the split piston type. We are interested in these shock absorbers because they represent the best we can do in a complaint case without scrapping the man's existing hydraulics. We are therefore anxious that you should leave them on the car to see if they remain quiet. If they become noisy we shall then have to fit a pair of split piston dampers.

(2) The split piston shock absorbers have a different case to the existing 25 HP. dampers. Additionally, they are arranged for centralised lubrication. Therefore, it is not easy to fit them to an old car. If you will let us know the chassis number of any chronic complaint you have in mind we will ensure that these shock absorbers can be fitted to the car and send them down to you to fit at your convenience.

You will appreciate from this that the shock absorbers at present fitted to CXC-105 are the ones that are of most interest to you from the point of view of reducing quarterly complaints - the split piston type are of most interest to us to ensure that our future production will give satisfaction.
