PHANTOM CHASSIS. --------------------------------------- After receiving the three alternative schemes for the instrument board for the second L.H. chassis from WW. and discussing the matter fully with OY. and selecting out of the three, the one he preferred, OY. received a cable from the States calling for an entirely different arrangement with the alternative of using the British speedometer, with modifications to the instrument board to balance up correctly the odd pieces not incorporated in the patch. It is important to push this instrument board through as quickly as possible, and BY/TWD{T. W. D???Aeith} and RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} should note that the American speedometer parts will not now be required and cancel same. Also that the brake lever will have to be 1 1/2" shorter, reducing the length, I think it is 19 1/4", to 17 3/4". We will send DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} a layout of the proposal on Wednesday this week. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
