We have taken the weights of a pair of Gleason
Bevels and compared them with the weights of a pair of Standard
Straight Bevels. The results are as follows:-
GLEASON.
Bevel Wheel - 13 lbs. 15 ozs. ) Total per pair
Bevel Pinion - 4 lbs. 7 ozs. ) 18 lbs. 6 ozs.
STANDARD STRAIGHT BEVELS.
Bevel Wheel - 13 lbs. 0 ozs. ) Total per
Bevel Pinion - 4 lbs. 12 ozs. ) pair
17 lbs. 12 ozs.
Difference between both pairs 10 ozs.
