Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Conduit Street,
London.

Dear Sirs,

On the instructions of your Mr.Reid, Scottish Service Representative, we are today returning to your Works at Derby, per L.M.S. Covered Truck, the 20/25 h.p. Rolls-Royce Limousine chassis No. GLZ-56, collected from Messrs. Hooper by our client Mr. P.S. Brown of Linlathen, on 1st September. Two days after Mr. Brown's arrival in Dundee, he drew our attention to the noise from his engine, and we immediately got into touch with your representative.

The last 3 cars we have delivered 25 h.p. chassis Nos. GRW-53 GSY-66 and GLZ-56 have all within a week or two of being handed over to the customer, developed this noise, and they have each had to be sent back to your Works at Derby for modification.

Dundee is quite a small town and the fact of this occurrence has caused a great deal of conversation amongst the better class car owners in this city. The news unfortunately, has leaked out to quite a number of our potential buyers and I am afraid until this trouble is thoroughly cured we cannot hope to do very much business in Dundee.

We have also at present in Messrs. Hoopers, London, a 20/25 h.p. chassis No. GYZ-19 which is being fitted with a Limousine body, and we should like, if you were good enough, under the circumstances, to instruct your representative there to see that this engine has a thorough test before allowing it to leave the Coachbuilders, as we do not wish to have the same trouble as we have had with the previous cars.

We have also at your Works in Derby just now, chassis No. GSY-66, which has been there now for fully 10 days, and so far have had no word that we might expect the return of this car. As our customer naturally is growing very impatient, we shall be much obliged if you will expediate delivery at the earliest possible moment.

Yours faithfully,
For ROSSLEIGH LIMITED
