LETTER FROM:- T.B.ANDRE & CO.LTD. 5, DERING STREET, NEW BOND STREET, LONDON.W.1. Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ld., DERBY. Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 6/NJ25624. VAT/GO. 26th June.1924. HARTFORD SHOCK ABSORBERS. Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your favour of the 25th. instant, which has crossed our letter to you of yesterday's date, in which we advised the despatch of a sample pair of shock absorbers fitted with a new type centre adjusting bolt, for your approval. With regard to the springs, we recommend one large thick spring plate and one small spring plate, making double springs, as shown on the sample pair above referred to, and as supplied with the majority of the shock absorbers delivered to you during last season, and though we have obtained equally good results with the use of the Triplex springs, we see at the moment no reason to make any definite change, and the trouble you have recently complained of is due to the fact that instead of a thick spring being fitted, only one thick spring was fitted. We have ready for delivery to you under our contract, 60-prs.of shock absorbers, which we intended despatching this week, but under the circumstances, we propose holding this consignment back, and can have them fitted with the new centre bolt as soon as approved of by you; this would only delay delivery for about 8/10 days, and would avoid your having to return this consignment, if you decided to adopt the new type centre bolt immediately. Kindly let us have a reply regarding the above as soon as possible, together with your instructions. Yours faithfully, T.B.ANDRE & CO.LTD. (Sgd) V.A.Trier. DIRECTOR. | ||
