Dear Sirs,

The test carried out on the Ford 30 H.P. and Wolseley 16 H.P. cars for wind noise, was hardly comparable with a similar test on our R.R. car.

Mr. Kelly will appreciate from our tests that there is so much engine and other noises from the cars tested that it was impossible to hear wind noise coming from the ventilators.

It was necessary to cut the engine and coast in neutral to hear wind noises.

We were only able to coast from 60 m.p.h. downwards and at these speeds the cars were not free of wind noise, though the V.8 Ford was much better than the Wolseley.

Further tests will be made at Derby, but at the moment we are not very hopeful of the required standard being obtained.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
