[Stamped: JUN 30 1930] x9.67 ROY{Sir Henry Royce}10/MG24.6.30 Price's Oils The Price's Oil Company advise they are making a change in the character of Motorine Amber A by reducing its setting point, and so making it even more fluid at low temperature than formerly. Sample herewith. They state: "The changes which we are effecting do not alter in any way whatever the efficiency of the lubricant from the point of view of gears and back axles under working conditions. The advantages of the lower setting point lies in the fact that a car in cold weather will be easier to start up from cold owing to the reduction of the consistency of the lubricant in the gear box at these low temperatures. The overall mechanical efficiency of the vehicle will be improved whilst the oil in the gear box is still quite cold. As it warms up it approaches and will still reach the efficiency of Motorine Amber as at present produced. From that point onwards there is no difference between the present and the future lubricant in their behaviour." "You will be particularly interested because the new Motorine Amber A will be even better than at present for the One-Shot system of lubrication. You will have the necessary combination of low setting point and heavy body." They will have bulk supplies available shortly. Please confirm that, as far as this Company is concerned, we are in accord with the change. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} Sample. | ||
