1021 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} 15th. February, 1940. E.A.Green, Esq., "Sylviadale", 42, Warwick Avenue, Earlsdon, COVENTRY. Dear Green, I was interested in your remarks with regard to the attitude of the P.S.C. towards aluminium. I feel very strongly that after the War the price of aluminium is going to be such that we shall be able to make use of it in much larger quantities than at present. The price is bound to fall to somewhere about 6d. a lb. unless the large number of people who have been using it for their aircraft, remain in business. We are, therefore, including a lot of light alloys in some of our experimental cars. It is not reasonable to do this and at the same time exclude the use of alloys on parts such aswings. I should like to go down to P.S.C. with you some time in the near future to see what they are doing quite independently of the body project which they have undertaken for us, and which I appreciate is likely to be another month or so. Possibly you can arrange this. Yours sincerely, | ||
