| Page 2 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. after final inspection a thermostat is found to be slightly off range, it is very difficult to put it right again due to the presence of this pin. If the pin is drilled out the spindle only requires turning the merest fraction and it means drilling another hole at right angles and filling up the first hole. To avoid the possibility of weakening the spindle we have endeavoured to correct the temperature range of any thermostats which have been returned to us as incorrect, by alteration of the charge. This is a lengthy and tricky business, and would not be necessary if it were possible to adjust the length of the spindle as suggested. We shall be grateful if you will give this matter your consideration.
