D.CD.1400 - IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR. SECTION 8120.

The above scheme shows the application of the Vernier Control to R.R. Distributors with the flat plate type Lucas Governor.

We have also taken the opportunity of incorporating the modifications requested in the Experimental Report on the testing of this type of distributor made to B.CD.594, which include the strengthening up of the terminal screw, clamping screw for fixed contact arm adjacent to contact point, and the deletion of the lubricating pad.

This scheme is to be used in conjunction with N.CD.1542 - Modified Spring Drive, and standard length of shank and driving shaft has been aimed at.

With the Vernier Control an additional earth is required to make sure the distributor body is adequately earthed.

We have shown two methods. The one with the flexible connector is the method preferred.

It becomes necessary to modify the castings carrying the distributor, to provide the necessary fixings for the stationary portion of the vernier control.
