Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Sym. reported 25.5.VI. was misfiring as the heat of the engine increased and that the cause may be due to the coil overheating (considering the weather conditions). After trying three coils we finally traced the cause to the Lucas distributor. The plate carrying the make and break mechanism had become slack in its bearing thus allowing the whole to rock over as the cam revolved. A Delco single arm distributor was fitted and the misfiring was cured. The Lucas has run 4192 miles. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/B.Brazier. | ||
