RE OPEN BODY FOR "GOSHAWK II". X3730 -X180.

Apparently we have got the dimensions increased in size where we desired, viz. the increase in width of the front seat at the elbows. Also the increased length, and doing away with the bulbous back should make the back portion considerably more roomy; this was needed.
Mr. Elliott has seen this body, and thinks it is what we were aiming for.
The models of closed bodies are really the more important, and I think these should be moving in all types, cabriolet, landaulet, and limousine, especially the latter.
We think we have a nice arrangement of scuttle insulation, valance, and running board, standard wings, spare wheel carrier, etc, but we have attempted nothing very unusual for fear of delay.
Perhaps you have heard that the engine, clutch, and gearbox unit complete has been to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, and from the appearance promises to make a very nice piece of work. We are anxious the whole shall have that quality which would give one some pride of possession.
I do not think it will be found that the cost of production will be excessive. We have endeavoured to adopt a simple scheme, with very practical features of good shape and proportion.
The back axle should be very light for its weight carrying capacity, and the springing well damped, so that with soft springs the riding and holding the road should be good.
