-2- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}1/JH.18.11.37. Show up the weakened spots. We suggest that we try to overcome these weak places without increasing the gauge of the material by doing away with the finger grooving and dishing both the end plates and baffles and at the same time cutting a fairly large hole in the centre of the baffle. There appears to be ample clearance to do this in the ends of the tank with the centre of the end plate projecting say 1" but it would require slight adjustment to the angle of the filler connection and a local working on the plate to take the flange. Having had this failure with the finger grooving we are not hopeful of the Wraith III end plate to PGB.83 where the three grooves are very close together at the bottom. The above suggestions are of course applicable to Bentley III. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems} | ||
