X4565 S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Copy to:- EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} CWB11/GM/15-3-27. USE OF BALLOON TYRES ON 20 H.P. Present standard of tyre on 20 h.p. is 5¼" medium pressure tyre on 21 by 4½ well base rim. Messrs. Dunlops also supply a 33 x 6" balloon tyre which fits the same rim. It would be of material help to Sales in dealing with certain customers and in making Sales to them, if it were possible to fit this balloon tyre in lieu of our medium pressure tyre where such is specially demanded. Do you see any objection to this, particularly in those chassis after No. 151 of J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Series where the steering is lower geared and in view of the fact that hydraulic shock absorbers are being fitted in front. Will you please give this matter your earliest possible attention as it is desired to be able to deal with this question immediately No. 151 etc. of J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Series becomes available, which will be very shortly.
