4/1 PER BAG. S/W. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Proposed Tour to Nairobi - 34-EX. Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}3/KW/25.1.37. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has asked me to write to you on the subject of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R22.1.37. With regard to the various points you raise we have the following observations to make :- TYRES We do not agree to twin wheels, but we see no objection, provided you do-not, to the 7½" tyres on the present standard 18" rim. GROUND CLEARANCE Any additional ground clearance you can give by reason of fitting heavier springs - which no doubt will be of advantage on such a trip - will be very welcome to Mr.Symons. PETROL TANK We note your remarks about additional petrol tank, and this is in order so far as we are concerned. COOLING We agree to the louvred bonnet sides and the other steps you propose to take for its cooling properties. PETROL PUMP We agree that the car should be fitted with a similar scheme of petrol pumps as is on 35-EX. CARBURETTER AIR INTAKE AND SAND We agree to your proposal here. CLUTCH We agree to what you say. We note that you will require the car for one clear working week, and we are therefore arranging for it to come to you on Monday morning next, 1st proximo. We will ask Park Ward to send you a small quantity of the paint to match up the bonnet sides. (contd) | ||
