Hdy{William Hardy} X550 c. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}12/MH.{M. Huckerby}9.8.35 re 20/25 HP.CHASSIS - STEERING SEIZING (GOH-4) Thanks for your Sft{Mr Swift}/JMW.2/MW.8.8.35. I have already spent some time in the Steering Decartment in regard to the above, also discussed the matter with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} The job is a very important one and, as previously pointed out, we are being pressed by Sales for some report as to the cause of this sudden trouble. In the past we have experienced this trouble to a certain extent during the hot weather, and the view has been expressed that it has been aggravated on this occasion by the thin oil which we are now using. Against this, however, the view has been expressed that the worm and nut fitting is not yet satisfactory; otherwise no trouble would be experienced with lubrication even with the present type of oil. It is very necessary, therefore, that we should have a meeting, at which yourself and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and, if possible, BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} can be present, so that some action can be taken to avoid a further recurrence, and also retrospective action if necessary. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
