C O P Y. Sft.{Mr Swift} from Mr. Scott. Sft{Mr Swift}/Sct6/RJ.11.11.33. Re D.W.S. Jacks. Please note, further to our memo' Sft{Mr Swift}/Sct1/RJ. 31.10.33, re the above, and in response to memo' Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L145/KT.27.10.33. In the latter memo' it stated that it had been arranged for the makers to stamp the Jacks O.S. or N.S. and that if they were correctly fitted by the works, and the handle applied in the desired manner a clockwise rotation of the handle would raise the car from the ground. We have to report that upon getting ready an urgent sold 40/50 HP. Chassis, we found that the jack on the near side would only raise the car if the handle was rotated anti-clockwise and with the handle fitted correctly. Upon dismantling the jack, under the impression that it had been fitted incorrectly by our man, it was found to be stamped N.S. and would only work correctly if placed on the offside of the car. We suggest that this jack be sent back to the makers. Sft{Mr Swift}/Sct. | ||
