-2- Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}14/KW. 26.9.35. (6) SpectreCodename for Phantom III Carburetters. Swindall will get some needles as soon as possible for the scheme where the balance pipe is connected to the intake silencer. We must give production a specification for the 12 SpectreCodename for Phantom III carburetters being built. We must complete the SpectreCodename for Phantom III & Stromberg carburetter system and get it on the road. (7) Valve Gear Silence. Ll. Smith should go through our camshaft and see if there is anything already made which we can try to see if it gives better valve gear silence without any sacrifice of slow running. Swindall should run silichrome exhaust valves to see how fine a clearance is possible on the stems. The valves should be copper-plated before they are fitted, as this is supposed to reduce the chance of seizing. (8) Fan. GNL. will test the Cadillac fan on his car until the one we are making like it is available. (9) Dodd should urge the completion of SpectreCodename for Phantom III I by Hx. (10) Hand Brake Adjustment. Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} will take up the question of the inaccessibility of the hand brake adjustment with Z. (11) Leslie will get much softer rubber for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III mounting all round. (12) Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} will look into the question of getting a large slipper wheel on the existing crankshaft for the big bore unit. | ||
