BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} BENSPORT DASHBOARD. Herewith we send N. schs. 3534/5. shewing the dashboard casting fixing to the frame etc. It will be seen that the general construction follows the lines of Peregrine, but we have omitted the vertical bolts attaching to the frame. There appears to be no justification for these as the fixings between the dash and the frame seem to provide all the lateral stiffness that is required. The bolt bosses were inconvenient to cast, and we believe inconvenient to drill. It will be noticed that the casting appears to draw except for the side pieces where the two pots join together.
