Hallam - Head Repairs} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Mr.Maddocks. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} -------------------------- (1) SPRINGS FOR U.S.A. A cable has been received from Springfield, reading as follows - "in view recent experiment necessary to ask to reduce load springs rear quoted in our order by 200 lbs.each." The Works Committee have asked Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} to order the necessary additional lighter springs required, in view of this cable. The heavy springs which will not now be required by Springfield we shall be able to use up here. The Works Committee are also of the opinion that springs fitted on chassis at Derby are probably too heavy, and suggest Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} should stop Messrs Woodheads making any further springs over and above 2200 lbs. until EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} returns from America, when this matter can be fully discussed, and then taken up with R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
