Re: P.II - Rear Dampers. --------------- Will you please prepare as soon as possible a preliminary arrangement drawing, with sufficient views to show clearly the following specification:- (1) Standard P.II Rear Casing complete with main Lever and Shaft. (2) Split Piston and intermediate lever to N.Sch.3262. (3) Cover in cast iron with knife edged valve seat, as shown on Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}322. (4) Filter for Air Vent. (5) Leave out non return ball on air vent. (6) Lubrication from Rear Axle system. In connection with N.Sch.3262 (Item 2) the replenishment valves will not be required for this specification. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} also recommends the hole for the hardened pads is made with a blind end. Without the non-return valve (Item 5) the design of the valve cover plugs can be simplified. The existing .025 diameter hole should be retained, but the .098 diameter outlet should be drilled normal to the axis. No cleaning plugs will be necessary. [HANDWRITTEN] BY/SS.{S.
