1020. 11th March 1937. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}11/AP. The Hoyt Metal Co. Putney, LONDON S.W.15. Dear Sirs, With reference to our conversation over the telephone, yesterday, with regard to the Bentley main bearings which you are going to metal with "Satco", enclosed are the finished detail drawings. These drawings L.60914 and EB.614 are of the machined halves whereas you have the complete rings, they will however, serve to indicate where to apply the "Satco". A sufficient excess of material to be left on for our machining and cutting; it is not necessary for you to carry out any machining whatever. In regard to the connecting rod bearings, will you please metal half of them with "Satco" and half with Z.3. whitemetal. When complete will you please return the jig, as the Works are rather anxious to get it back as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
