BIRMINGHAM.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Paul.

We have received the modified silent tread tyres.

We are rather surprised that you have only submitted one type of modification to us, as we agreed during your last visit that you would submit two types to us.

We do not think that the two tyres you have sent us look sufficiently different to the ordinary silent tread tyre to give a customer the necessary increased confidence. Although we have not yet submitted them to our London people, we are rather confident that this is the attitude which they will take up.

This matter has now been under discussion for a considerable time and has caused great concern to our London office. We should like to know whether you can submit the alternative modification to us with the least possible delay. In the meantime we are sending the two tyres you have already let us have, to London.

Yours faithfully,

For Rolls-Royce Ltd.
