GANDY'S "SAFEGUARD" BRAKE LINING. CONTINUED Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd. (2) 20th December, 1937. tests on our Safeguard "400" Metallic, and thank you for sending this. Under separate cover, we are sending six samples size 3" x 1.8" x 3/8", of Safeguard "400" G.M.2, this being the lining containing approximately 2% of Graphite. If you could test this at an early date and let us have your report, the information will provide us with a useful guide in determining the optimum graphite content. There is a possibility that before long we may install the necessary plant to enable us to carry out experimental work on Rubber bonded linings, but in the meantime we regret that we cannot submit samples of this type of lining in which you are particularly interested. So far as price is concerned you can rely upon us supplying bulk quantities of any of our linings which you may approve, at prices which will compare favourably with those of any other maker. We are anxious to co-operate with you in eliminating the troublesome squeaking which arises on your brakes, and if any other ideas occur to us in addition to those already discussed, we will write you again on the matter. Yours faithfully, GANDY'S (The G.B.M.Co.,Ltd.), S. Horn. Chief Chemist. | ||
