WHEATLAND WORKS, SEACOMBE, CHESHIRE, ENG. 20th December, 1937. I/NB. 415. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, Derby. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr.A.F.Martindale. We thank you for your letter dated 16th instant summarizing the matters discussed during the interview with your Mr.Martindale at our works on the 15th instant. In regard to item 3, the material referred to is named Safeguard"D". This lining was not used singly but in combination with our standard Safeguard "400" Metallic, the "D" material being on the leading shoe and the "400" on the other. This combination has proved very effective in eliminating a most extreme case of squealing. We propose to send such samples as will enable you to try out the combination of these two qualities as mentioned above. There is a minor mis-statement which we would like to correct. This material was supplied to a Municipal Transport Department for use on their double decker Daimlers and not direct to the Daimler Company as stated in item 3. We are interested to have the graph showing the friction | ||
