Contd. -2- Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}6/NJ.22.5.21. Fleming, Birkby, & Doodall Ltd. are manufacturing the raw material in the form of powder, both natural colour (reddish-brown like Bakelite) and black and their price for quantities under 50 lbs is 3/6d per lb. which is 6d. per lb. higher than the price of Formite powder. They are quite prepared to supply the material to us so that we can make our own mouldings and are also prepared to assist us with regard to the design and construction of moulds and the installation of a plant for the production of mouldings. We are of opinion that the "Elo" moulding powder is superior to Formite and, in all probability, is quite as good as Bakelite, with the added advantage that it is manufactured in this country; whereas if we emply Bakelite we shall have to import the powder from America. Mr. Birkby invited us to send Mr. Brock to the Works at Liversedge and promised to show him the Expl. Department where mouldings are always being made. We are of the opinion that we should take advantage of this invitation and after Mr. Brock's return issue a further report. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} | ||
