Jack Barclay, Esq.,
George Street,
Hanover Square,
LONDON. W.1.

Dear Mr. Barclay,

On the early Phantom II's the bonnet used to open until the chromium studs on one side came into contact with those on the other side; the result of bumping it open was a noticeable dent in the bonnet.

On the last series of Phantom II the arrangement was adopted whereby the bonnet did not open so far and this scheme has been continued on P.III.

We know that the studs which are pulled by the scissor mechanism when the bonnet is open would cause a dent in the bonnet if this latter is opened violently. We do, however, believe that if it is treated carefully, no damage will result; at the moment, we have nothing better to offer.

As regards the second paragraph in your letter, we cannot let you have a faster car than your present one. The 'BU' Series cars will be identical with the "BT{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}" cars.

Yours sincerely,
