Engine lubricant trial with Oleic Acid which was curtailed due to an unrelated engine breakdown.

of Oleic Acid but unfortunately our old engine broke down during the trial although we understand from the Engineers, that the lubricant was in no way responsible for the breakdown, and although the time of the experiment was curtailed our foreman was able to express the opinion that the interior of the engine and the valves were much blacker than when our ordinary gas engine oil was used.

We are not content to accept this test as final but having some other oils to test we put them in hand when the engine was started again, and we have not yet had an opportunity of reverting to Oleic Acid as a lubricant
