CRACKING OF CYLINDER HEAD SEATS.
1124.

Further to the memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}6.10.38, we understand that 3 cylinder heads have been cast accordingly, for trial on Wraith in respect of the above trouble. These are in Nickel Molybdenum alloy as recommended in the memo RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/Vs.{J. Vickers}1/JT.9.8.38.

Regarding the request for 5 cylinder blocks in the same memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MH{M. Huckerby}, for trial in respect of bore wear, we omitted to mention that these are required for trial on Bentley II 4¼-litre which will be fitted to customers' cars at the discretion of GWR.

As stated these are in nickel chrome molybdenum alloy.

We are particularly anxious to get both the cylinder heads and blocks on test as soon as possible and would appreciate your urging the completion of them.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}
