BALL BEARING SPIGOT ON SERRATED JOINT. --------------------------------------- Please note that the original suggestion for cadmium plating these pieces has been cancelled. We had four clutches seize in a total of approximately 20, and it is very evident that we are likely to have trouble in the future if the cadmium plating is left on. In view of this, therefore, it will be necessary for us a {Mr Adams} /- To retain the hardened surface. b/- To add polish after grinding to the spigot for the bearing, and a note that same must be dipped in hot Lanoline. The inside of the bearing itself should also be rubbed with Lanoline before fitting on. c/- Any clutches which have been treated by cadmium plating must be dismantled and the cadmium polished off. Mr. D'Aeth will make an allowance of .001 only as the clearance between the spigot and the bearing. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
