Analysis of a broken steering roller from The Adamant Engineering Co., finding it was not made from case hardening steel.

The above steering roller submitted by you has been examined and we find that same has not been made from a case hardening steel.

Hardness tests carried out in centre of cross section of roller C64/65.

Micro-examination confirmed that the roller had no case and that the material from which it was made was similar to our Ball race steel i.e. High Carbon Chromium Steel.
