J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 25-8-13. We return herewith complaint sheet 60503 Clark, and in reply to your query "Do you think we have quite got over the valve spring difficulty ?" Mr Wormald wishes me to reply that the springs which we are at present fitting seem to us to be entirely satisfactory but unfortunately we cannot re-assure our-selves that the makers will not at some future time send us a batch of springs which have either been made from faulty material or which have not been correctly heat treated. We do everything in our power to guard against this, in fact the tests that we now habitually use are far more severe than anything we have done in the past, but in spite of all these precautions it seems inevitable that at irregular intervals a batch containing faulty springs gets passed through. p.
