To C, from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 8830 S E C R E T. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M24.10.24. E.A.C.11. RE. BODIES. X. 8830. We thank you for your C7/C20.10.24., and drawing No. L.5977., shewing the enclosed limousine, 'B' steering, as fitted to 44-PK., which we believe Mr. Hives now has. The situation is now somewhat changed, and the need for purchasing a closed body immediately somewhat disappeared. Both Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and ourselves are strongly of the opinion that the first EAC.2. closed body should be on an underframe suspension. We are designing this latter, and Derby will proceed to make it. When this is done we will discuss with you the ways and means of mounting the body on it. This we feel will not be very difficult as we can send the underframe to the coach-builders, and it will not arouse any suspicion. Wings and valances could be made at Derby for this car. Concerning the sports model, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is sending you a radiator and bonnet, almost immediately, and when you have got the body, radiator and bonnet, wings, etc. mounted completely at Lillie Hall, we would like the opportunity of viewing it before it is officially shewn to CJ., and the Sales Officials.
