Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} BY C.B. X3117 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/H6.3.33. RECEIVED JUNE 16 1933 re, PHANTOM II. CHASSIS - D.W.S. JACKING SYSTEM. We have received the following report from one of our complete car testers at Coachbuilders:- "Upon trying out the above on a bodied car at the Coachbuilders, I was surprised at the length of time it took to jack a wheel 1" clear of the ground and return jack to the closed position. I timed myself on one wheel and it took nearly 10 Mins. I think there will be much adverse criticism on the jacks, especially from owner drivers. It is too low geared and requires a quick release and a two-speed box. A chauffeur when cleaning wheels will waste about 30 mins. jacking up and returning jacks to closed position. Apart from the time taken, it is rather exhausting." We take it these points have already been considered, but we should like your comments in case of customers' criticism. EP.{G.
