F.{Mr Friese} Blackith, Esq.,
Wellworthy Piston Rings Limited,
LYMINGTON,
Hants.

Dear Mr. Blackith,

We have your letter of the 13th July - addressed for the attention of Mr. Salt. CTS{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} has this

I understood from Mr. Hives that we were to 'father' this bearing job for 12 months, which expired in February this year, and by that time you would be able to take it over entirely. We have worked on these lines, and, at the moment, have too much on to make visits to any other Companies. We shall be pleased, as hitherto, to give you our opinion of any bits you like to send along.

A.C.9. The more I see of this material, the more I feel that it is an excellent big-end material, but that the proper procedure is to re-design the engine to take advantage of it, and use babbit on the main bearings. This is now our standard practice throughout the Car Division at Rolls-Royce.

Yours sincerely,
