x6071. 27.5.33. DETAILS OF FUSES OF R.R. BAKELITE TYPE AND CARTRIDGE TYPE AND LUCAS CARTRIDGE TYPE. Definition of fusing current. The fusing current which maintained for 1/2 min. melts the wire. Definition of oxidising current. The oxidising current is that current which when maintained for 1/2 hour changes the wire from tinned to straw colour. Standard size fuse in bakelite body 30 S.W.G. Fusing current 34 amperes. Oxidising current 24 amperes. Percentage increase over oxidising current to melt wire is 41%. Standard size fuse in glass container cartridge Type. 30 S.W.G. Fusing current 21 amperes. Oxidising current 13.4 amperes. Percentage increase over oxidising current to fuse wire is 56%. | ||
