Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/N. Messrs.Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, London N.W.10. Dear Sir, Re: Short Wheelbase Bentley I.B.5. We thank you for your letter of the 13th.inst. and for your reduced quotation for the lease covers, but as this is still considerably above that of our local supplier, we propose to continue our usual practice of having the covers fitted in Derby. With respect to the instrument board plywood former with which you supplied us, we would point out that you have shewn the steering column 9.250" from the centre line of the car, instead of 11.000" as instructed. This makes a very considerable difference in the layout of the instruments. We shall be sending you almost immediately, a layout of the instrument board as we propose it should be arranged. It is about time for us to consider having a date for an inspection of the complete mock up of the car, and we suggest that you fix a date sometime after Christmas. The writer will wish to come down and work at the general appearance of the front wings etc. before we ask other people to call and inspect it. We need not mention that this should be done in the secret chamber. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. Car Project Office. | ||
