8th April, 1941.

Dear Sirs,

We regret delay in replying to your letter Rall/ML, dated 30th March, 1941, regarding modifications to the design of the winch you are constructing. This matter has been referred to D.D.S.R, at M.A.P.

We assume the approval of the Ministry to the modifications proposed since it is clear that they must be incorporated if the winch is to satisfy our present requirements. For the same reason we are prepared to accept the delay suggested and now expect the winch to be ready for trial in mid-June.
