- 2 - Front Springs 4. 1.--Front springs crash badly ( weak ) Fitted stronger springs (Lemoine) CarO.K. 2.--Front springs weak. 100 Lbs stronger springs fitted Car O.K. 3.--Front springs weak. 1200 & 1250 . Fitted stronger springs Lemoine. Car O.K. 4.--Front & rear springs found to be weak. New springs fitted to front(Lemoine) New springs fitted to rear(Firths)Car O.K PLATINUM POINTS. 7. Burning. 1.--42-LC.Points burnt out after 3070 Miles. Extra vent.given to dist.casing. Cause of trouble due we think to car having had a faulty condenser.New condenser fitted. 2.--22-RC.{R. Childs}Plat.points burnt out quickly, mileage not known.Condenser found to be split.Complaint cured by extra vent. to dist. casing & oil seal filled. 3.--42-DC.Points burning out after 5300 miles Cured by extra vent.to dist.casing & oil seal filled. 4.--75-HC.Plat.points burnt out quickly. Extra vent.given to distr.casing & oil seal filled. 5.--70-SC.Plat points burnt out (2 sets) after 5000 miles.Points found to be fitted badly,points overlapped.Extra vent given to distributor casing & oil seal filled;Car now O.K. 6.--104-LC.Points badly burnt. Extra vent. given to dist.casing & oil seal filled up .Car now O.K. 7.--99-SC.Points burnt out .2 sets in 12000 miles fitted.First set fitted by chauffeur second set by Paris Depot.Extra vent. given to dist.casing & oil seal filled up.Car now O.K. STEERING.High 2. Speed Wobbles. 1.--24-RC.{R. Childs}Steering wobble between 65 to 70 miles per hour.Trouble overcome by -/8 45/19" increasing front tyre pressure.Front wheels rebalanced & friction increased on cross st.ball ends.Poundage put up to 60 Lbs on front shock absorbers. 1500 Lbs. springs fitted to side steering tube. | ||
