- 3 - High Speed wobbles. Continued. 2.-.36-LC.Steering unsteady at high speeds. Trouble overcome by fitting new 1500 Lbs side st.{Capt. P. R. Strong} tube springs ( 3 of the original found to be broken).Increased shock abs. poundage.(60 Lbs). Slightly Stiff or Sluggish in action. 1. 58-SC.Trouble caused through control tubes in str.clmn. not having any end play. Tubes dismantled and .003" end play given. The latter overcame the trouble. ---- Steering Joggles. 9. 1.-.42-LC.Steering joggles on bad roads. Fitted 1500 Lbs springs to side str.tube. (good improvement) 2.-.35-HC.Steering joggles on bad roads. Fitted 1500 Lbs springs to side str.tube (improvement but not cured).At a later date a .940" worm & nut has been fitted. Steering now O.K. in every respect. 3.-.112-SC.Steering joggles on bad roads. 1500 Lbs springs fitted to side str.tube. Friction of front S.Abs. increased to 50 Lbs. All tyre pressures reduced to 3 Kgs.Adjusted cross str. tube (on test steering found to be very fair. 4.-.34-HC.Str. joggles on bad roads. 1500 Lbs springs fitted to side str. tube. Friction of front S.Abs. set to 60 Lbs. Front tyre pressure checked.After above work was carried out steering found to be quite satisfactory. 5.-.45-RC.{R. Childs} Str. joggle on bad roads. 1500 Lbs springs fitted to side str. tube. Friction of front S.Abs. set to 60 Lbs. Cross str. tube readjusted.Tyre pressure checked & set to 3 Kgs. = 43 Lbs p" Steering afterwards found to be satisfactory 6.-.44-LC. Str. joggles on bad roads. 1500 Lbs springs fitted to side str.tube. Friction of front shock absorbers increased to 60 Lbs.Tyre pressures set at 3 Kgs. After above work str.was quite a satisfactory job. ----------------------- | ||
