Dear Sirs,

We are anxious to obtain a decrease in the price we are paying for road springs.

In order to come to some decision about this point we should be glad if you would let us know, firstly, the decrease in cost of the Bentley rear road spring FB.2171 as opposed to the standard production spring FB.896 if the former were ordered in production quantities. Secondly, we have just asked you to manufacture some springs to our drawing F.88751 and we are contemplating standardising these shortly. Can you let us have a figure of the relative cost of these springs with the solid forged eye shown on the drawing, and a rolled eye in place of the solid eye.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
