Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}25/KW. 8th April, 1936. Messrs. Thos. Firth & John Brown Ltd., Spring Dept., Tinsley, Sheffield. For the attention of Mr. Porter. Dear Sirs, Further to our visit yesterday, we send you herewith drawing LeC.5074, showing oiling scheme at the front end of the spring on the underneath side. We have decided that the lubrication must be carried out on the second plate, as shown, and not on the third one, as we do not think that from this latter position oil would ever reach the top plate. The details of the thread, etc., can be taken off the drawing we left with you, No. F.88751, and other dimensions can be scaled off the attached print. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
