Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY/HER Y7410 BY10/G.17.4.29. ROAD SPRINGS - LUBRICATION. ------------------------- Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG.16.4.29. we do not think actual bedding of one spring to another is feasible, but we think we have ta-ken care of the point you have in mind by the provision of the extra flexible tip which we have instructed Messrs. Firths must be a feature on all future springs. By the use of the extra flexible tip we ensure the point which always comes on first giving way under load, and a reasonable area of contact produced as a result. We think that where the oil holes are would be approximately the essential of the bedding surface. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
