X 116 To Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.1/HP.23.2.33. Peregrine Oil Base. A practical scheme for a manifold in the base can be made by arranging the main connection through the side wall of the casting, as in sketch, this connection being of course connected to the oil release unit. [Diagram annotations] PRESENT SUCTION PIPE FROM RELIEF UNIT BEND TO CLEAR FLOAT NOZZLES RIVETED TO BASE FOR DIRECT OIL SCRUB A scheme rigged up on these lines depends upon whether it is going to remain efficient with oil sludge present, but one would anticipate that the sludge would be washed into the corners of the casing and would not be deposited where the oil flow was sufficiently rapid.
