-2- (4) Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} If the brakes were hot, and the servo also, a much higher shoe load than this would be necessary to lock the wheels, and the resulting sponge might be sufficient to make the pedal reach the boards. This point does not appear to be satisfactorily settled yet. (5) Thick carpet under pedal. The two layers of carpet are most incompressible, and the pedal could be pressed down to them fairly easily. Supposing the brakes were not adjusted up completely, this might cause trouble. (6) Bending of pedal stem. ____ It was noticed on 34-EX that to hold the car stationary with the hand brake, it was necessary to pull it so hard that it was impossible to let it off again.
