X 1627 PRODUCTION TESTING OF ELECTRICAL APPARATUS. X'975 X 1782

INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED.

Kindly note the following are the instruments which will be required for the production testing of electrical apparatus. Perhaps you will give the necessary instructions for the ordering up of these.

1. CONDENSERS.

For the production testing of condensers, a Weston Dynomometer type, Model 370 A.C. milli-ammeter will be required giving a full scale reading of 30 milli-amperes. This instrument will serve the purpose of checking over the condenser capacities. A transformer will also be required but we have one obtained from the Metallite, to which we are instructing alterations to render this suitable. [Handwritten notes in margin: X-2434, X.1581]

2. IGNITION COILS.

For ignition coils, a self-contained Weston direct current moving coil volt-ammeter will be required giving ranges as follows:-

1.5 volts and 15 volts.
1.5 amperes and 15 amperes.

(It is assumed that the same instrument will not be used, except in one case mentioned below, for different production tests, as the probability is that tests on the different apparatus will be going on at the same time).
