Contd. -2- EFC2/T19.8.19. 3. MAIN SWITCH & ACTUATING BOX. For this purpose another instrument similar to the above described for coils, will be required. Also an Isenthal variable resistance of 2 1/2 ohms with a current carrying capacity of 5 amperes. 4. STARTER MOTOR For the production testing of the starter motor, we need a moving coil D.C. instrument with an external 150 ampere shunt. We also need simultaneously an instrument giving a volt range of 15, but it seems likely that one of the two similar instruments already specified, (which presumably will be of the box type) would be available for the purpose. 5. DYNAMO. It will probably be justifiable to have a third similar box type instrument as, although it is scarcely necessary to put every dynamo received through a test at our own Works, nevertheless, we recommend that say every fifth dynamo should be given a run to see that the standard of out-put and cutting-in speed is maintained. This instrument, when not in use on the dynamo, might come in as a voltmeter for the motor test. EFC, PER D G(H-H) YD(W)S(L)GO(T) Y SS{S. Smith}(X) H | ||
