W. Rowbotham, Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Derby,

Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

It seems ages since I last saw you. In have been in the vicinity of Derby but unfortunately have not had the chance of calling to see you. I hope you are faring well nowadays, and also Mrs. Rowbotham.

I am wondering if you can help me over a letter I have received from Alexander Duckham. He was up here the other day and has followed his visit up with this letter, saying that he is collecting information for the Secretary of Mines Department on petrol consumption. He had some figures once from us, but these have been lost in the blitz. He does not want to know any makes of cars, but just horse powers, and is anxious to have figures as to consumption at high and low speeds.

If you could help me with this information I should be very glad, so that I could send it on, or if you prefer perhaps you would like to write direct and advise me at the same time. If the latter seems to you the better course, Alexander Duckham's address is:-

"Woodlawn",
Page Heath Lane,
Bickley, Kent.

Yours,

[Signature]
