To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC.
c. Sft.{Mr Swift} for Mr. Brock.

X.4081 - R.R. GOSHAWK SWITCHBOX.

A short while ago we had a case of a switchbox, some of the switch contacts of which were not making reliable contact. This was shown to Mr. Brock at the time with the idea of preventing any further similar failures.

We believe another case of this kind has recently occurred.

The object of this note is to remind those concerned that careful attention is necessary in the inspection of these switches, to see that each of the spring contacts moves aside visibly when the plunger conductor comes between them.
