With reference to Mr. Royce's recent memo regarding the importance of bringing as much weight as possible rearwards, I would suggest that the battery problem might be simplified if we used, instead of the present large 12-volt battery, two smaller 12-volt batteries in parallel, as these smaller batteries would not require the same amount of scheming for their accommodation, neither would they be so heavy for handling in more or less inaccessible positions. I think two 12-volt batteries in parallel would be preferable to two 6-volt batteries in series, because in the event of one of these batteries being faulty or requiring to be removed for repairs, charging or other attention, the system would not break down, and the car could still be run without the necessity of hiring or borrowing a replacement unit, also in the event of complete breakdown of one battery the cost of replacement would be halved and the car would not be thrown out of commission.
